Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location/Based: Field based (North of England & Midlands) – one day per week in Skelmersdale

Reports To: Business Development Director

Staff Responsibility: None

General Overview of the position: Virtue Technologies has a real focus and passion for the Education sector and has been a leading provider of IT solutions to primary and secondary schools, multi-academy trusts and FE colleges since 2006.

As part of the Field Sales Team, you will work alongside field based Account Managers and the Internal Team to deliver your objectives.

Demonstrating Virtue's values, you will build and maintain relationships with internal colleagues, manufacturers, partners and customers.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Business Development

• Build relationships with Multi Academy Trusts and schools across the identified

territories to develop and close new business. Primarily, this will be the selling of

Support, Security and Cloud services and will require travel and on-site visits.

• The target market will include Multi Academy Trusts and independent schools

who have previously traded with Virtue, existing customers who currently only

purchase Audio Visual service or Sign-in Solutions and brand new prospects.

• Deliver against sales targets for new business.

CRM

• Keep an accurate pipeline and forecast record within the CRM.

• Ensure customer contact data is updated in the CRM where it’s found that it is

required.

Engagement and relationships:

• Engage with colleagues whose selling focus is Audio Visual or Sign-in Solutions to

facilitate introductions to customers and with other internal teams such as

Marketing and Presales to source and develop opportunities.

• Engage with Account Managers to transition the customer to them in the 6

months after the initial sale.

People Specification

Essential

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a business development role in the IT services

industry (not b2c)

• Excellent communicator (verbal and written)

• A solution seller as opposed to a transactional seller

• Resilient and enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude

Desirable

• Previous experience in the Education sector

• Understanding of IT services such as cyber security and cloud

• Experience working with a CRM tool (ideally Dynamics)
